Oliver Jacobson is a violinist and performing artist based in Longmont CO.
He began playing violin at the age five, studying classical violin in the Suzuki method. At age 13, Oliver met his mentor Kai Lin Yong, former violinist of the Boulder Philharmonic and the Boulder Acoustic Society Band. Oliver then began studying jazz, bluegrass, folk, and world styles.
He then attended Berklee College of Music for performance and music therapy. Oliver Jacobson now performs his own original music and plays with various bands in the area.
Oliver teaches classical fundamentals with opportunities to meet the student’s individual interests. This can include directions such as bluegrass, celtic, jazz, blues, and rock violin. Oliver also teaches with a perspective in music theory, providing a broader context of understanding for improvisation.
